5th Month Moments

Ella was 5 months old on October 13th. Ella is such a joy in our lives. She is a very happy girl but she is not afraid to tell you when she is hungry or tired. Ella had some 5th month achievements which are; putting all her weight on her legs, laughing, rolling over, and watching signing time. Right now Ella is trying to sit up on her own but she still needs some help Here are some fun moments of Ella's 5th Month!

It's like looking in a mirror!

Ella likes to wake up daddy in the mornings!

Mommy was playing with Ella's hair, don't worry she didn't go out in public like this.

Well that is it for Ella's 5th month! We love our little girl!

this deserves a POST all it's own!

Enough Said......

Ella Fun T

Well I decided to call this "Ella Fun" but I realized I just need to add a T and it would sound like Elephant. How sad right, I really didn't realize what possible name teasers she would be subjected to until after I had already sealed her fate as Ella Cheri Smith. This kind of reminds my of when I finished painting my bedroom and a week later I was like "Oh red and green, GREAT my room looks like Christmas!"

She found her FEET! It is so great, it's the new toy, Ella will wake up from her nap and I won't have to get for at least another 15 minutes because she is busy sucking on her toes .

Aww daddy loves his little girl! Although she looks a little weirded out.

Ha! What a chubby smile!
So do you see the red ring around Ella's neck? It is constantly irritated, moisture or slobber gets caught in her neck rolls and irritates her skin. I try to keep it dry but it is a constant struggle. Any ideas on how to get rid of this? Maybe a bib will work.
Ella has not only realized she has feet but she also has a tongue! I swear last week she hardly ever had that tongue in her mouth. It was always moving around out side her mouth it was so funny. This week it is totally old news, she now keeps it quietly tucked away.
I am really trying to get smiles for the camera but she gets so interested in the camera that she won't focus on Mommy trying to get her to smile.
This is Ella's new toy (thank you Janae!) she loves it and I love it because it doesn't make her loser her hair and I don't have to hold her constantly. A Classic "win win" situation!

This is how daddy knows Ella will be falling asleep shortly, she will grab onto his finger and minutes later she is out.
and apparently so is he....
Brooklee came over again and we laid them down on Ella's play mat together but I guess the funnest thing on there was Brooklee's ear.....
And for Brooklee it was Ella's hair.

Ella over the ages....

So I haven't been very good about posting Ella at each month milestone so I will do so now....

4 months old, my little chunky monkey!

Ella at 3 months, she started to grab objects and was holding her head up pretty good but we were still calling her "Bobble Head Ella".
2 months old, Ella first knowingly smiled at 2 months (although she didn't do it for the camera until 3 months old).

Camping........with an infant......again!

So I bet you are all wondering why I haven't been blogging, well long story short my laptop cord broke so I had to wait for a new one in the mail......I broke that one too, so I had to wait for another one.

Anywho, yes it's true I went camping again with an infant after I vowed to never do it again. Although, this time we were actually roughing it. We slept on the ground in a tent and made our food using a fire pit. I haven't done that since I was in Young Womens! It was quite the experience, it even rained while we were there. It was fun, except for the part when we got lost in the middle of no where in the middle of the night with no cell phone service but other than that we had a great time!

See no make up, that's when you KNOW you are roughing it!

This was our cook, he happens to also be Ella's Uncle Michael. He is married to Robert's sister Sarah.

Cousin's!!! This is cousin Reese being held by her mother Sarah.

This is Aunt Ashley holding cousin Hunter.

This is our attempt to get Ella to smile. This is the best we could do after many failed attempts. She happens to be laying on our sleeping bags, on the ground, in our tent.

And this is cousin Reese, she is so cute! What a sweet face! Look at all that hair! She is actually wearing a wig that we made for her using all the hair that has rubbed off of Ella's head.

Ketchup

Well my blog feels a bit neglected so I thought I would give it some attention! To Ketchup with the last month here is what has been going on.

We went to Reese's baby blessing, unfortunately I didn't get a picture of Reese in her beautiful dress.

This is Ella's Grandpa Ed and Grandma Lisa with their kids Tyler, Emerson (holding Ella) and Mackenzie.

Ella had a few firsts this past month!

She holds her head up very steady!

She reaches for toys...........

She swims....... and did not enjoy it!

Ella has found her thumb which you see here she is attacking it quite vigorously. She prefers the open hand method and will usually occupy her other hand by grabbing her ear or a tuft of hair.

I just thought these were a few cute pictures!

This is Grandma April.........

and Grandma Cheri......

and Grandma Lisa!

And the final news is that I went to Wicked with Robert......

and a few friends:)

I went with Robert, Dondra, Pam Mofford, Sam Buntin, Doris Mofford, and Trisha French. It was so fun we all loved it of course. It might be deemed my new favorite musical but for the present that place is reserved for "The Sound of Music".

Camping Trip

So my brother Tracy got this awesome new 5th wheel so we decided to go camping. You can see my dads much older 5th wheel there in the background, that is where Ella and I stayed.

This is how Ella spent most of her camping experience. She absolutely LOVED being outside!

Sadly Robert could only come up for a weekend but we got to get out and go on walks and have a little fun with daddy before he had to go back to school and work.

I took my sisters kids crawdad fishing we only did it once because it was a little hard with an infant strapped to your chest.

Ty loved playing in the water!

Dallin was pretty diligent in searching out the little critters an he was eventually rewarded.

He found and caught a dead crawdad, turns out the dead ones are the easiest to catch.

There was pond there where we would go and feed the fish and ducks they even have an island just for the ducks.

Although the ducks don't really hang out there much. There were a couple of ducks there the day we visited.

We played at the pool a lot, it was pretty hot there in the middle of the day. These are my brother Tracy's kids and my sister Dondra's kids too.

I didn't put Ella in the pool since it is a public pool and she hasn't been vaccinated yet but we enjoyed walking around the shallow end.

Of course in a pool like this you must always watch out for the sharks.
oh wait......that's just Carson......anyway here is Ella soaking up the shade in her summer suit.

gotta love the shoes!

My friend Pam even came up for a visit we are enjoying s'mores with my niece Lauren.

Well that was our camping trip. I probably won't do that again anytime soon. It was kind of difficult with an infant, maybe I will try again when she is a little older.
